Individual goals are established and records of progress kept. A sketchbook is required for this class. This program does not require students to have prior art-making experience. Students new to ADEX are required to complete 3-4 prerequisite projects that introduce new mediums and the fundamentals of composition, color, and form. These projects also serve to familiarize students with the studio’s layout, proper setup and cleanup procedures, as well as essential steps in project planning. These prerequisites are completed at the students’ pace and typically take at least one session to complete.

Ballet 1 continues foundations set for dancers in Pre-Ballet classes, and can also be the perfect introduction to dance for new, young movers. We explore dance concepts with props, imaginative play, engaging music and games, while learning foundational dance technique.

After 10 years of teaching kiddos to cook in San Francisco, we’ve got some serious pros in our community. This year we are inviting Artistas ages 11-16 to apply for our culinary leadership counselor in training (CIT) program. Previous attendance at our camps or school programs is a perk but not required. This fun and innovative program has a limited number of spots available in each camp session. Culinary Artistas is looking for applicants who love cooking and also a have desire to be a mentor to younger children during camp. Applicants will be considered for preferred dates on a first come first served basis and an application to the program does not guarantee acceptance. Tumble 2 is designed to take your athletes tumbling to the next level. Athletes will learn to increase speed and power in running tumble connections. This class will train Roundoff Back Handsprings, Tucks, Layouts and Twisting. Athletes are required to have an unassisted Standing Back Handspring and Power Hurdle Roundoff.

Where they are: Talk about being on the move! At this age, little ones’ abilities are exploding: they are communicating, running, showing interest in friends, and can’t stop exploring! What to expect in class: It’s all about opposites: loud and quiet, fast and slow, up and down! Contrasting ‘themes’ help your child learn better ways to communicate. We move across the bridge sllowwwly and then fast! They'll learn how to control body movements and use their body to navigate and problem solve across monkey bars, giant cushions, and through little tunnels. We’ll also practice repetition and routine with regular parachute and bubble activities. Soon your little one will be leading the Gymbo Dance! Benefits: Physical: Exploration of the different equipment supports problem solving, navigating skills, and confidence. Cognitive: Repetition, songs, and interacting with their familiar adult supports language development, vocabulary, and memory. Social: Our classroom environment supports social and emotional development. Adults: Need your little one to take a good nap? This class is high energy and full of fun. In fact- you might want to take a nap too!

Let your kids explore our 1,500 sq. foot play space, dance around to their hearts content while you sip complimentary coffee/tea.
