About Susan

I grew up in Virginia , graduated from The University of Virginia and eventually co-founded the only year-round professional theatre in the Adirondacks . I served as Artistic Director for many years. I also taught a variety of theatre courses at SUNY Potsdam and local prisons. 13 years ago my husband and I moved to Portland. By chance I volunteered at The Parkside Neighborhood Center. The Parkside "job" led to a long term sub job at Head Start and then to a teaching position at SECDC. I was Assistant Teacher in the 3-4-year-old classroom, but often spent quality time in the 2-year-old and preschool classrooms. Then Covid-19 came along. After the lockdown, I decided not to return as I was happily ensconced with a family in South Portland. I was with them for 3 years until the youngest went to preschool. Since then I have worked as an after school nanny and spent mornings with a 2-year-old. Currently, I am starting my 3rd year with the family of a 6-year-old in Cape Elizabeth.
