About Steven

Helping children learn and grow has always been part of my life. I come from a family of teachers: my mother was an elementary school teacher and ran her own day care, so early learning and child development were part of my everyday world growing up. I've raised two sons of my own, now 22 (At PSU/Enginering) & 16 (in high school). I was hands-on through every stage: school drop-offs & pickups, after-school sports & activities, homework help, and plenty of active play. I love to cook and can prepare balanced, nutritious meals that kids actually enjoy. My approach to care mixes learning, social skills, physical activity and fun, whether that's homework help, indoor games and crafts, or outdoor play and sports. Every child is different, and I pay attention to each child's personality and interests, so they feel comfortable, confident and excited about what we're doing. I'm responsible, patient & dependable, will follow your rules and routines, I believe in clear, open communications.
