About Sonja

I am the mother of two teenagers who I have reared as a single parent for the past 16 years, while working a full-time professional job in the Uptown area. My children are older and more self-sufficient now but I am not far removed from the daily routine of morning school drop-off, rushing from work and navigating traffic to pick up children from after school care, preparing dinner, getting children to extracurricular activities/lessons, assisting with homework, and getting them to bed in a timely manner. It is all worth it, and our children grow up all too fast. I enjoy working with the elderly and young children. I volunteer to monitor local nursing homes, and to assist with children at the church nursery during morning service. I love to read and sing to and with children. My desire, at this point in life, is to assist young, working parents by providing part-time (mainly evening and weekend) nurturing and assistance with their children.
