For many years, I have been a dedicated caregiver for my grandfather, who was diagnosed with ALS. Beginning at the age of 17, I assisted with his daily care, including managing his catheter bag, administering feedings through his feeding tube, providing companionship, and transporting him safely to medical appointments. This experience taught me patience, empathy, responsibility, and the importance of preserving dignity while caring for others. Through this hands-on caregiving role, I developed a strong understanding of the physical and emotional needs of older adults and individuals living with complex medical conditions. My personal experience has strengthened my passion for providing compassionate, dependable, and respectful care, and I take pride in creating a safe, supportive environment where those I care for feel valued and comfortable.
