Shardea came to our family when I (breastfeeding mother) was seeking some relief at night and time to recover at 3 months postpartum. She helped our child through the dread sleep regression by working with me to co-create solutions and boundaries for our child. She was also wonderfully transparent and methodical about care and billing, which we appreciated as new parents who have never worked with a care provider. I would absolutely work with her again.

We love Shardea! She has been babysitting our 10 month old son since he was 4 months old. We immediately trusted her when we first met and she continues to put our minds at ease so we can enjoy date nights.  Shardea seamlessly takes over meals, bath and bedtime.  Plus, she truly engages with our son by playing with him, dancing to music, and reading him stories. Our son is delighted when Shardea comes over! 

Shardea has been with us since our little one was 3 months old (he's now almost 2). Both my husband and I work from home, so the 4 of us are often in the apartment together. It's worked amazingly well. Shardea has a beautiful energy, and is playful and patient. They spend much of the day learning and playing. She's also rigorous about schedule which I appreciate keeps him healthy and happy. Shardea is direct in her communication and flexible in her approach where we have opinions. She's taken short trips with us and we've found that to work well.  We've had a fantastic experience working with her!

Shardea took care of my 1.5 year old while taking care of my my almost 6 year old daughter at the end of a very challenging remote kindergarten year. She then did a month of live-in work with us under stressful circumstances in Long Island. Throughout it all Shardea was a great caretaker for my kids. She was firm but kind and fun. She always brought fun to their lives but was clear about boundaries which was important to us. She always had great advice and strategies about how the kids and she really felt like a true teammate- a third parent with us. Our whole family grew very close to Shardea and want her to succeed in life and in work and are so proud of her for all she has and will accomplish! We all recommend her without hesitation!

We hired Shardea to be a nanny for our 2 and 4 year old girls from May through September while our day care was closed. It was our first time leaving our kids with anyone outside of family or day care, but she made our first nanny experience a great one! Our girls took to her very quickly, which made it easy to welcome her into our home.  She got them on a daily schedule, took them on walks, made them lunch, and read to them. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would definitely bring her back if we have any future child care needs.

I hired Shardea from Care.Com 2 weeks ago. This is my first time hiring from this site. I posted an ad and she was one of the applicants. I interviewed her on the phone and she had great references and reviews. As a single Mom I was very nervous to go in to surgery and hire someone I don't know. The shift was for 15 hours, 5 am-8pm for my 4 year old son who has mild special needs. (learning and speech delays, sensory differences). She showed up a few minutes early to my relief. My son had a great time with her and she tired him out taking him on several walks to the park. When I came home and needed to recover, she intuitively new how to distract him from going in my room and waking me up. She is friendly, great with kids, and dependable. I trust Shae and would hire her again in a heart beat.

Shardea worked with us for six months, taking care of our 3 and 6 year old kids. She is very caring and warm, bubbly and fun but firm, as well as punctual. She is a clear communicator and we trusted her completely. Our kids loved and miss her. She has our highest recommendation.

Shardea took care of our daughter overnights for some time- she was punctual and knew what she was doing.  I would definitely recommend her.

Shae was such a blessing to have help us with our 3 year old over the Summer.  She was able to connect with our daughter and keep her busy and on schedule.  Our daughter has difficulty with transitions and also has sensory issues that make her a challenge, at times.  Shae was very consistent with her and really stepped up to help support us.

Shae has been part of our family for almost 2 years and it breaks my heart knowing that she won't be with us full time. I can still remember her encouraging my son as he took his first steps, and see the joy on his face when she taught him how to pee pee in the potty. She helped him learn to love dancing and how to wait for the beat to drop in a song. She filled his day with joy and filled our day with joy by getting him to eat when we couldn't. Shae didn't only help our son become a better person, she also helped us become better parents. She can adapt to what you want as parents while also helping provide advice. She is professional, kind and loving. We trust her completely and any parents will be lucky to have her as part of your family.

She was our son's nanny from age 3 months to 2 years. She is extremely trustworthy and our son loves her! She took him to music and dance classes, swimming and playgrounds and other activities. She would hold impromptu dance parties that he loved! She also made sure that we were aware if we were running low on diapers or other items and would shop for them herself. She researched items that she thought he would like or from which he would benefit. She would often surprised him with clothes she thought he would look good in. We knew he was in great care and safe. She has been a nanny for several healthcare providers so I think that speaks to her level of trustworthiness and safety. She's extremely intelligent and previously worked in the medical field so she's well versed in child/infant CPR and medical care. We eventually transitioned our son into pre-school so we sadly had to let her go. 

I invested quite a bit of time (extensive phone convo and an at home interview) in Shardea. We were finally having her come and take care of our 2 children last night. I was all ready to go, whisking around the kitchen and making sure all was ready to enjoy a special date night with my hubby. When 22 minutes before, Shardea TEXTS a message that she can't make it! She said her car broke down. Now, I may be a little old school, but last time I checked~when your unable to make a new job mere minutes before, a phone call is expected. I own a successful business in SF and I know and understand that things happen but I would never allow a staff member to text if the are calling out under any circumstance. What I saw last night was extremely unprofessional and unemphatic. 
Parents, I'm sure Shardea is a good babysitter, but I would think twice in hiring her as this is now the second review of her being flaky. We all know how much date nights mean and I would hate for another family to be treated this way.

I contacted Shardea to watch my children while I attend an event with my wife. She responded by text message. At first I mistook her for someone else, I asked to know where she live, she declined saying that she do not give out her address to employer, that her references are enough. I explained to her that if people hires her without asking for her address and a copy of identity, that I will not be one of them, that I will like to vet her to feel confident to allow her into my home and watch my children. This is simple, I just will not hire someone hiding her identity. It is unsafe and not recommended.

We are happy to give an enthusiastic recommendation of Shardea as a babysitter / nanny. Shardea worked with us full time taking care of our son from three months old to one to 1 year. She was responsible for him Monday through Friday while we were at work, including preparing his meals and taking him on outings. Shae is pleasant, punctual and diligent. Most importantly she is an active nanny who took a real interest in our sons well being and development. She takes the initiative to find improvements to his day routines, and healthy learning activities. He is very fond of her, and we will be sorry to see her go.

I want to convey my enthusiastic recommendation of Shardea as a babysitter. She is taking care of my two year child. She is dependable, organized and excellent. Shae always followed my requests for the care, and my daughter would often talk about her. She is great!!!

Contacted her about a position and she responded right away to say thank you but she had another position. Most people wouldn't and I appreciate that. It shows her character.
