About Rachel

Hi! My name is Rachel and I am mainly looking for one time or occasional jobs, but open to something more consistent with the right fit! I was an elementary school teacher for 5 years, working with students from ages 4-11. Before that I worked for 4 years as a preschool teacher with children aged 8 months-5 years. Most recently, I ran an environmental education nonprofit in Eugene, OR, but now I'm back in SF! While living in Eugene, I also nannied for newborns starting at 6 weeks and would love the opportunity to work with babies again. Being a teacher has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I believe that kids should have the freedom to explore and learn about the world in ways that are child-centered and child-led. Playing, exploring, being outside, and engaging in the community are key experiences for kids. I am comfortable with babies of any age and I love pets. I speak Spanish conversationally and am fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
