Experience: 5 yrs
Bringing joy and nurturing care to children is my passion! For 5 years, I've happily provided dependable childcare, supporting families with up to three children of all ages. I'm patient, creative, and always approachable. I love engaging kids with outdoor sports, board games, and educational activities. I follow parents' lead on household rules and preferred communication methods. I also hold certifications in CPR training and First Aid. My background includes a high school degree. Ultimately, I hope to bring my calm, friendly energy into your home. I have a 18-month-old son so I understand the importance in finding someone you trust.
Olivia cared for our daughter for several months and was affectionate with her. We ultimately ended the arrangement because of concerns with follow-through, communication, and trust. We frequently had to remind her about agreed-upon responsibilities, and routine tasks required more oversight than we expected. We also observed frequent personal phone use while she was caring for our daughter. We observed the phone use interfering with her attentiveness, interaction with our daughter, and our expectations around safety. When we raised the concern, she denied the extent of the phone use despite us having personally witnessed it throughout the course of her employment. More broadly, we experienced numerous situations where the information given to us did not align with what we had observed or documented, including concerns about the accuracy of her reported work time. Over time, these inconsistencies significantly affected our trust in the relationship. When concerns were discussed, we experienced defensiveness, interruptions, eye-rolling, and a sharp tone, which made it difficult to address issues constructively. We gave Olivia more than two weeks’ notice and mutually agreed that she would continue working through her final employment date. Despite that agreement, she did not report for her next scheduled workday and did not call or message us beforehand. Because trust, professionalism, reliability, attentiveness, honesty, and accountability are very important to us in a childcare relationship, we ultimately felt ending the arrangement was the right decision for our family.
