Mary was an incredibly skilled and compassionate caregiver for my loved one, who had severe dementia and severe hearing loss. Mary worked with us for 2 1/2 years, both in his home and as a private duty caregiver once he moved to memory care. She had a true gift in how she communicated, which helped him get through his activities of daily living than he was with more ease, resulting in less stress and more time for companionship. In addition to the typical caregiving role, Mary was my eyes and ears. She was always on top of noticing what he needed in terms of clothes, toiletries and audiology or medical appointments. She made sure to prepare the foods he liked (which changed a bit throughout his illness), while also giving consideration to well rounded nutrition. When he was still living at home, I trusted her with all of his grocery shopping. Mary is gold! You'll be lucky you found her.
