About Mariel

I have a graduate degree in marriage and family therapy with training in play therapy, and much of my professional background has been spent working with children and adolescents. I'm comfortable with ages ranging from infants to preteens. I really enjoy entering into kids' little worlds with them. I have a background in art education and love coming up with fun projects to teach or work on together, whether that's painting, sculpting, making something out of cardboard, dress-up, theater, or following whatever oddly specific thing a kid happens to be fascinated by that week. I'm creative and playful, but I'm also comfortable with routines, boundaries, and household rules. I try to be someone that kids can be silly and imaginative with while still feeling safe and cared for.
