About Maria

Hello! My name is Maria and I've been living in SD for about a year now, originally from the Bay Area. I'm a kind, active, and dependable caregiver who genuinely enjoys spending time with kids. I grew up helping care for my younger brother who has cerebral palsy. This taught me patience, responsibility, and how to not only support children with different needs, but appreciate their unique personalities. I'm a retired college athlete and have many years under my belt of coaching swim for kids ages 6-14. I love engaging kids through outdoor activities, crafts, reading, and staying active. I'm currently in graduate school and job hunting for an HR role. The job market has proven quite difficult, so I'm looking for a flexible position here. I care deeply, communicate clearly, and always aim to create a safe, positive environment where children feel supported and confident. Thanks for taking time to read about me!
