About Makiyah

Hello! I am a patient and engaging nanny with more than 8 years experience caring for and instructing children. I graduated from college with a degree in psychology with an emphasis on child development. I have a passion for instructing Kindergarten and Pre-K. I've worked in daycares, preschools, childcare centers, and early childhood education. I've recently been long term nanny for twin toddlers, and a 13-month-old. Just a few of the skills I like to teach my 2-5-year-old's: Reading (Phonics, Letter recognition, CVC words) Swimming (Survival swim, Floating, water safety) Riding a bike Potty training Life skills (cooking, cleaning, dressing themselves) Gymnastics With education being one of my major focuses, I also believe in balance. I love the outdoors; walks, parks, and being out in nature are some of my favorite activities. In my previous placements I had a rotation of places we would visit, i. e. children's museums, the Zoo, the public library, plus a variety of parks.
