About Leah

I'm seeking a part-time position supporting children, teens, or adults with disabilities. I hold a master's degree in Special Education (K-8, Mild to Moderate Disabilities) and am passionate about helping individuals build independence in daily living, communication, and community skills. My experience includes working as a special education teacher, head counselor at an adaptive recreation camp, in-home caregiver, and residential care provider. I have supported individuals with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities (including Down syndrome), speech, physical, and hearing impairments, and behavioral needs. I also have experience using AAC communication devices, adaptive equipment, and mobility supports. My goal is to help individuals develop greater independence at home and in the community through patient, compassionate, and individualized support.
