About Karissa

Hello. My name is Karissa. In my 34 years as an LPN, I've worked in a variety of settings including memory care, school nursing, home care, rehabilitation and more. My most recent home care client of two years just passed. She was a vibrant 93-year-old who was navigating the loss of her independence caused by vision loss. I had recently completed treatment for cancer when I started caring for her. My two year contract as a school nurse had ended. The timing was perfect because it was a challenging time, although I made it to the end of the school year. I decided to enter my pre-retirement era, without the typical issues that accompany floor nursing jobs. I wanted a position where I could provide dedicated care to one person who did not require lifting. I was seeking work for three days per week. What I'm seeking now is the same. My strengths include good communication with my client and their family, attention to details and the tremendous pride I have in doing a good job for people.
