About Johana

Johana has been caring for our children (ages 12 months and 3 years) for the past 13 months. She has been amazingly helpful, kind, patient, and responsible. Johana balances gentleness and warmth with holding our toddler accountable and guiding her to be respectful and considerate. Our three year old has also learned so much Spanish spending her days with Johana (and we imagine that our little one is learning too)! One afternoon when I was stressed out, my three year old turned to me and said, "no pasa nada, Mama" which means, basically, "no worries Mama." Not only has Johana been teaching our girls Spanish, but also how to be adaptable and calm. This moment captures the wonderfully tranquil, kind energy that Johana brings into our home every day. I work from home so have been privy to Johana's approach with our daughters. She is attentive and profoundly present. She talks to the children with love and respect, she listens to them, she plays with them, she takes them outside and to the local playground & library, she does crafts with them, she reads to them, she sings songs with them. She is never on her phone--which I feel like I should mention because it is so rare these days! We really could not imagine a better nanny to spend time with our girls. Johana has been extremely present, loving, helpful, and responsible. We give Johana our highest recommendation and are so grateful for her help for the past 13 months.
