About Emily

I have been working with children ranging in age from toddler through teenager for more than 20 years in a variety of settings from private nannying, to teaching in preschools, to serving as a teacher and mentor to teens. I have a BA in Visual Art and Education with graduate coursework in Early Childhood Education. My educational philosophy is child-centered, child-led, play-based and rooted in listening, patience, observation and highly attentive care. I have considerable experience with children with autism, ADHD, AuDHD, and Persistent Demand Avoidance (PDA). I am also highly sensitive to the needs of children who demonstrate unique sensory processing. I enjoy art projects of all kinds, sensory play, reading, cooking, and baking, singing, dramatic play, swimming and sports, board games and puzzles, building, obstacle courses, nature walks, playgrounds, libraries, and museums. I own a car and have a clean driving record, am CPR and First Aid Certified, do not smoke, and love pets!
