About Dionna

I feel incredibly blessed to have found Dionna! After several unsuccessful matches on Care.com, finding her has truly been a breath of fresh air. She has gone above and beyond what I could have hoped for in someone caring for my mother, who has dementia. What stands out most is that Dionna doesn’t simply “watch” my mom—she genuinely engages with her. She makes sure my mother is stimulated throughout the day with conversation, music, cognitively appropriate movies, and sensory activities. She also keeps her moving, not just for bathroom breaks, but by taking laps around the house to encourage mobility and activity. Dionna is also incredibly thoughtful and attentive to the home. She tidies the common areas, prepares breakfast, and has shown my mother such kindness. One day, she even shared the Red Lobster lunch she had purchased for herself with my mom. It may seem like a small gesture, but those thoughtful moments mean so much when someone is caring for a person you love. One of my absolute favorite things is Dionna’s end-of-the-night recap. She is extremely detail-oriented and tells me exactly how my mother’s day went, including her activities, bathroom schedule, meals, and even the cute or funny things my mom said throughout the day. As a daughter and caregiver, having that level of communication gives me tremendous peace of mind. Although Dionna is unable to cover all of the hours our family needs, she even went the extra mile to help me find additional caregiving support so that my mother’s needs could be met. Dionna is compassionate, dependable, attentive, and genuinely invested in my mother’s well-being. It is difficult to put into words the relief that comes with knowing your loved one is being cared for by someone who treats them with patience, dignity, and kindness. She is truly amazing, and our family is so grateful to have found her. I would highly recommend Dionna to any family looking for someone who will care for their loved one as a person—not simply as a job.
