I have been blessed to have been a nanny for several amazing families, all starting with their children at infancy and lasting for years. I have a special fondness for infants and toddlers. There are few things I have experienced in life that bring me the same sense of inner peace as rocking a child to sleep or soothing a crying baby or toddler. So much so, that I volunteer one day a week in the NICU at Prince William Hospital for their Loving Arms program. I will engage and stimulate your child through play and strive to instill a love of books early on. Thank you for reading my profile and if it speaks to you, I look forward to hearing from you.
Christine has been part of our family for years, since the birth of our oldest son (now 9), leaving briefly during COVID, but returning when the world settled down. While we intend to keep her until our youngest leaves for college (joking?), the needs of two boys in school aren't quite the same intensity as when we had two under two, and we want to share her awesomeness with other families. Christine has an almost preternatural ability to bond with little kids, and even the ones who seem shy or slow to warm up gravitate toward her easily. She has decades of experience and knows all the tricks—not in an "I've seen everything and nothing surprises me" way, but in the much more useful sense that she can look at a situation and know what a child needs. She is particularly wonderful with babies and toddlers, and we felt, from the very beginning, completely confident that our boys were not just being cared for, but genuinely loved. She's also exceptionally good at communication. She will keep you in the loop without making you feel like you're micromanaging your own childcare, and she'll send you adorable pictures during the day to alleviate your separation anxiety. She is terrific at taking direction and adapting to a family's routines and parenting style, while also being confident enough to step in and handle things when that's what you need. We were a dog family before we ever had kids, and Christine has helped us navigate both a geriatric dog and the arrival of an extremely energetic new puppy. Not having to arrange separate pet care when she's there has been a bigger relief than I initially expected, and Christine has helped our boys learn to be good with pets. After all these years, Christine has become one of the most important people in our guys' lives. We have trusted her with them at every stage from infancy through elementary school, taken her traveling with us, and relied on her through both ordinary days and the days that life doesn't prepare you for, but having someone like her makes easier to manage. If you are looking for someone who will love your baby, give you peace of mind, communicate well, and actually become someone your family can depend on for years, you really can't do better.
