Bloomington native returning home! I have a masters in Dance Education from NYU and am currently pursuing a PhD in Arts Education. I was a teacher aide at  Children's Center (infants-5) for 3 years, where I cultivated warm relationships with all of the families we served and used RIE techniques with the children. Other experience includes nannying full time for a baby boy (6 months-2. 5 years old), babysitting for dozens of families through College Nannies & Sitters, teaching at many dance studios (including One Step Above here in Bloomington). I also spent seven months as a cadet teacher in a class of 3rd graders, I've taught dance to kids of all ages and skill levels, and taken college courses in child development, psychology, and speech development. I've been a sitter since the age of 13, and pride myself on creating fun, safe experiences for kids when their parents are out! 
I am CPR/AED certified.

Callie is our go-to sitter. We have hired for both nights out and as a regular weekly nanny on Fridays. We have a 2.5yo son (who is autistic) and a 5mo daughter. Callie comes over-qualified with experience working with kids. She is patient, fun and engaging (not an easy feat with my son!) and very, very dependable. She always texts to confirm a day in advance the plans (honestly sometimes she reminds me what the plans are) and pays attention to details - like cleaning up. I can rely on her to care for both kids during a full day.

Callie was great. she took care of our one year old son as a back up nanny and got along with him great, even though he has pretty strong stranger danger. She also took him to the park and taught him some sign language. I don't know if he learned anything but he had a great time! Very dependable, highly recommended.

Callie was our nanny/babysitter for our now 2 year old son for the past 20+ months. Through that time, she has gone from our occasional weekday/date night babysitter to an almost full time work week nanny in our pandemic bubble as we tried to working from home. Callie has been a true partner in helping us raise our son. Her experience and knowledge in caring for him has been unparalleled asset for us. She has spent so much time reading, playing, creating and exploring places with him. She has fostered his independence and personality through craft and play activities. From sidewalk drawing to visits to the beach to helping cook his meals, Callie has done it all. She has even from time to time cared for our beloved dog and cat while we have gone out of town. We are heartbroken to be losing Callie as she heads off back to school. We will miss her deeply and love her so much. She will always be apart of our little family. Any family that hires her will be truly fortunate as we have!

Callie has been caring for my two children in one way or another for the past 5 years, and we absolutely adore her. We actually first met Callie when she was in high school, and was hired at my son's preschool to be a teacher's aid in his 3/4 year old classroom. It was highly unusual for this very highly regarded preschool to hire someone as young as a high school student, which is a testament to Callie's unique maturity, kindness and skill at that age. My son immediately fell in love with her, and soon after we began hiring her personally as a babysitter for our son and his older sister. She quickly became our favorite sitter - both in the eyes of our children, and in the eyes of their parents! Callie has continued to sit for us to the present, throughout her college career. In addition to the childcare she has provided, Callie has also made strong personal connections with my daughter, as both of them are actors. Callie has served in a big sister role for my daughter when they have been in shows together - helping her in the production, and providing guidance and transportation - and has shared advice and feedback. 

In all these myriad ways, Callie has been a bright spot and a trusted professional in our lives. She has consistently demonstrated kindness, compassion, creativity, respect, maturity and excellent judgement. I would absolutely trust her with my children at any point in the future, and I'm very said that she will no longer be living in our community. We also love her as our friend, and we will miss her so very much!

I will share one sweet story from the last time that Callie sat for my son. We had recently gotten a high energy puppy, and I was a bit nervous about hoisting that extra responsibility on Callie for the evening. However, my husband was out of town and I had a huge event I was in charge of. So there was no choice. I figured that with the puppy being so high need, that Callie and my son would simply play it low key for the evening - video games and movies. Oh no! Instead, Callie and my son took all of the outside toys into the backyard (croquet set, balls, racquets) and created an obstacle course for my son and the puppy to run together. She used creativity and joy to create the most wonderful evening for both boy and pup - and both of them were completely wiped out when I got home. She documented it with photos, so that we will always remember the night (unfortunately, she's not in any of the photos!). 

So, bottom line -- we love Callie. We will miss Callie. She will always be a part of our family, and we cannot wait for her to come home to visit! Hire her and your family will be as fortunate as we have been.

Callie has been working with IU Campus Children's Center since June 2013 and she has been a joy to have in our program.  Her smile is always present and warm. She's attentive to the children...not just to their needs but to their individual being.  In the three years that Callie has been with us she has worked in each of our five classrooms with children ages infants through preschool. She is flexible and always willing to help out even at the minute.  Callie is always on time and very consistent in her attendance.  Not only can I attest to Callie's nurturing, fun, and professional skills, 11 full time employees and 63 families can as well.
