About Alex

Hi there, my name is Alex! :) I currently work for an after school program serving local elementary schools. As my job follows the Bellingham School District's calendar, school's almost out, and I am free all summer! (June 15th- August 31st.) My Background: I grew up in a licensed occupational/speech therapy center for Autistic children owned by my parents. I regularly joined in during sessions by helping the child feel safe, supported, and engaged- or even just playing games and having fun! *While this is by no means professional experience,*I gained a lot of skills that have helped me a lot in my current job. By the end of this school year, I will have had a full year's experience in professional childcare, and I plan to keep going! I am really passionate about caring for children with disabilities, and fostering kids' curiosity for nature, art, and learning as a whole. I strive to help children cultivate healthy, open minded relationships with peers and our beautiful planet!
