About Abby

I ran an overnight summer camp for children ranging in ages 4-16 who have a parent who has (or had) cancer. I oversaw all daytime activities, helped each child wake up in the mornings and go to bed at night, and made sure they always felt safe and happy. I catered to every child 's specific needs while they were in my care, including getting the pickiest of eaters to eat their veggies. I played with them and comforted them while their parents were busy as well as assisted in their own therapy. Before college, I babysat multiple families near me. I always made it my job to make the children feel content, noticed, and cared for in their parents' absence. In addition, I am the oldest of my brother and cousins, the youngest being 12 years younger than me. I frequently acted as their caregiver dating as far back as infancy.
